Contigo attend the Business Masters Awards 2012 ceremony

Contigo were recently nominated for two awards at the relatively new, but prestigious Business Desk West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2012. Adrian Bullock, Contigo’s Technical Director, and Dave Calmonson, Contigo’s Sales Manager, attended the awards ceremony at the Birmingham Town Hall. The ceremony was well attended by the great and the good of West Midlands Business and was a very well run affair; congratulations to Andy Coyne at thebusinessdesk.com and all of his team for organising a great event.

Contigo were nominated for the Newcomer Award to recognise the best new business initiative in the region and the Innovator Award, for most original business thinking. Contigo have been recognised for the creativity, innovation and success it has achieved in bringing it’s enTrader and enVoy products to the market.

The ceremony was slightly unusual in that Andy Coyne interviewed each of the nominees prior to the award being announced. This was done in a light-hearted way and Adrian tried manfully to explain the benefits of our energy trading and portfolio optimisation solutions to a room full of manufacturers! Andy was particularly interested with the deal we did in implementing enVoy at CNR in France where the whole process including implementation and training was done remotely, and so we have never met the team at CNR face to face.

As the awards were presented, we sadly lost out to Purity Brewing Company for the Newcomer award and to Elite Precast Concrete in the Innovator award; we congratulate both the companies on their success. We were however very proud to be nominated as a high technology software company at an awards that was dominated by the manufacturing sector.

The West Midlands has a very string manufacturing base which is currently showing many signs of success; but the high technology sector is small and under recognised. Contigo are proud to be a high tech software company, established and growing in the Midlands and hope we can provide a spur for other software companies to establish themselves and grow in the Midlands.p>
